CYCLELOFT “MONTHLY” INDOOR WINTER TRAINING PROGRAM – 2010/11

MIDDAY EDITION

WHAT:

Indoor training sessions designed and coached by USA Cycling Level II Coach, Kurt Begemann. These sessions are specifically designed to get you physically and mentally prepared for the 2011 season. Whether you are a competitive racer or a recreational rider who wants to get stronger and faster, these classes will get you to spring 2011 in the best shape of your life.

These classes are a condensed version of our well-attended evening classes. There are no mini clinics on product, no post workout stretching, and the ride time is 55 - 60 minutes, as opposed to 1 hr 15 minutes. These classes are designed to cater to those athletes who due to time constraints cannot attend the more comprehensive evening classes.

WHERE:

The 3rd Floor at the Cycle Loft, 28 Cambridge Street, Burlington, MA, 01803.

HOW:

Athletes sign up for sessions one month at a time (or see discounted package deals below), and select either, Group 1 (Mondays and Wednesdays) or Group 2 (Tuesdays and Thursdays). Classes begin at 12noon sharp and run through to 1:00pm. (Each group will get two sessions per week for the month, resulting in a total of 8 sessions per month.)

Winter Training Sessions will be designed to build a base over the winter with specific intensity and periodization increasing as the month’s progress towards the spring-time. These classes will occur monthly over November, December, January, February and March. Space is limited to only 20 riders per session.

WHEN:

Choose between the following two groups:

GROUP 1: Mondays and Wednesdays from 12noon – 1:00 pm.

GROUP 2: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12noon – 1:00 pm.  

November Dates: Group 1: (01, 03, 08, 10, 15, 17, 22 and 24). Group 2: (02, 04, 09, 11, 16, 18, 23 and Friday the 26th due to Thanksgiving).

December Dates: Group 1: (Nov 29, Dec 01, 06, 08, 13, 15, 20, and 22). Group 2: (Nov 30, Dec 02, 07, 09, 14, 16, 21, and 23).

January Dates: Group 1: (03, 05, 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, and 26). Group 2: (04, 06, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25 and 27).

February Dates: Group 1: (Jan 31 Feb 02, 07, 09, 14, 16, 21, and 23). Group 2: (01, 03, 08, 10, 15, 17, 22 and 24).

March Dates: Group 1: (Feb 28, Mar 02, 07, 09, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, and 30). Group 2: (01, 03, 08, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29 and 31).

COST:

Purchased by the class: $16.00

Purchased by the month: $120.00, for 8 professionally coached, 60-minute training sessions. (Save $8.00)

November/December “Package”: Only $220.00, for 16 professionally coached, 60-minute training sessions.  (Save $41.00)

January/ February/ March “Package”: Only $325.00, for 24 professionally coached, 60-minute training sessions.  (Save $59.00)

All 5 months: Only $500.00, for 40 professionally coached, 60-minute training sessions.  (Save $140.00)

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING:

Bring your own trainer or rollers, along with your bike and be prepared to work hard for 90 minutes of specific training that will cover all systems needed to improve your cycling performance. Bring a towel, water bottle and a dry set of clothes to go home in!!! (If you don’t have your own Trainer, we have trainers for sale ranging between $180.00 and $380.00)

WHAT TO DO NOW!!!!!

1.       Choose Group 1 or Group 2.

2.        Sign up for class by contacting Kurt Begemann at coaching@cycleloft.com

3.       Read our waiver and sign off on it, and bring it to your first class. If you answer “yes” to any of the questions, please get a letter from your doctor stating that you can participate in these classes. (Please note that you will not be allowed to participate without a signed waiver.)

4.       Take a complete break from cycling during the last two weeks in October so that you can physically and mentally recover from the 2010 season and you can begin class fresh and enthusiastic.

5.       If you don’t already have one, purchase a cycling computer WITH CADENCE and have it installed on your bike. (We have Cateye, Strada computers for $50.00.)

6.       Make sure your bike is in good condition, tuned up and ready to go BEFORE the first day of class. (The coach is there to work the class…not to work on your bike.)
